Inkwash Drawings

New England has some beautiful historic architecture. So, as a student at RISD, I supplemented my income through commissioned architectural portraits of houses for local clients.

Inkwash drawings are essentially monochromatic watercolour paintings. The process begins with a simple linear pencil sketch on watercolour paper. Then, subtle tonal shifts add dimension and form, by washing on layers of diluted black india ink.
